The KonMari® Books

Marie Kondo’s books helped bring the KonMari Method to a global audience, showing that home organization is about more than decluttering — it’s about choosing how we want to live.

It all began in 2011 with the “Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up”, a book that introduced a simple yet powerful idea: keep only what truly makes you happy. With over 12 million copies sold worldwide, it established Marie Kondo as a global leader in home organization.

Over time, other books expanded this perspective. In “Spark Joy”, Marie Kondo goes deeper into the method with practical examples and visual guides, showing how to maintain order and adapt it to different everyday situations. It is a book designed to support and guide.

In 2019, Marie Kondo published “Kiki & Jax: The Life-Changing Magic of Friendship”, a children’s book that introduces the value of friendship in a simple and accessible way for kids and families, showing that a healthy relationship with objects and spaces can be learned from an early age.

The KonMari Method also expanded into the professional world with “Joy at Work”, written together with Scott Sonenshein. This book focuses on organizing physical and digital workspaces, showing how reducing clutter can improve focus, increase clarity, and help us feel less overwhelmed.

Later, with “Kurashi at Home”, the author expanded her focus to lifestyle, explaining how order also influences our habits, daily routines, and emotional well-being.

And in 2025, with “Letter from Japan”, she offered a more intimate and cultural perspective, sharing the Japanese roots that gave birth to the KonMari Method and her understanding of order as an act of care and gratitude.

Together, these books show that order is not a trend or an obligation, but a practical tool for living with greater clarity, calm, and purpose. An invitation to choose with intention and to create spaces that support real life.
